“Coming from a third world country, I do know what it is like. I’ve seen it. I’ve lived it. It’s a noble thing to do. To help out. It’s for the children, for the families who are unable to get these resources.”

COVID-19
In 2020, Nicaragua faced a series of formidable challenges. When the COVID-19 pandemic struck, families in rural communities encountered limited access to crucial information and supplies, exacerbated by soaring demand and prices. Helping Kids Round First received support through a collaboration with Maguire Iron, whose team participated in packing and preparing food supplies that were sent to communities in Nicaragua.

This effort took place during a period of global challenges, when access to food and basic resources became increasingly limited for vulnerable communities. The support helped strengthen food security initiatives and ensured that families in need received essential assistance.

HURRICANES ETA & IOTA
Later that year, two hurricanes hit in less than two weeks the Caribbean coast and the rest of the country experienced heavy rain, flooding and our farmers lost crops and tools, had their houses distroyed and were without electricity for days.
As soon as it was possible, a group of volunteers went to the communities to deliver fortified food
packages to the families.

Humanitarian Aid for Sudan and Chad
Helping Kids Round First has extended its humanitarian response beyond Nicaragua to support communities affected by crisis in Africa, including Sudan and neighboring Chad. In 2025, the organization coordinated shipments of essential aid, including over 400,000 meals, working with partners and volunteers to deliver food, medical supplies, and basic essentials to displaced families and refugees.
This effort reflects Helping Kids Round First’s commitment to responding to urgent needs worldwide by supporting emergency relief operations, strengthening food security, and collaborating with local and international partners to provide life-sustaining resources to those facing conflict and instability.
